Copying transcripts one video at a time works for a single video. It doesn't work for a channel with 300 uploads. The channel transcript extractor lists every public video on a channel, including regular uploads, Shorts, and past livestreams. You pick the videos you want, and it fetches all of their captions in one background job. When the job finishes you get a ZIP file with one transcript per video, or a single combined text file.
You can close the tab while it runs. The job keeps going on our servers, and the finished download waits in your dashboard.
Download transcripts from entire channels at once
Includes regular videos, Shorts, and past livestreams
Search titles by keyword and filter by duration
Select specific videos, ranges, or skip ones you already downloaded
Export as individual files or one combined document
Background processing - no need to keep the page open
Example: Andrej Karpathy's channel (youtube.com/@AndrejKarpathy), the same channel used in the "a channel" example on our homepage.
Paste youtube.com/@AndrejKarpathy (or a /channel/ or /c/ link) into the tool above. You'll see the channel name and subscriber count before you sign in.
Sign in (new accounts get 25 free credits) and load the videos. Each row shows the title, duration, and publish date.
Everything starts selected. Search titles by keyword (for example "GPT"), filter by duration (short under 4 minutes, medium 4–20, long over 20), set a custom minute range, or select by position, where 1–10 means the ten newest videos. If you downloaded this channel before, "Exclude Downloaded" removes videos you already have.
Leave the language on Automatic or choose one. The language is fixed when the job starts, because it decides which captions we fetch. Starting the job reserves one credit per selected video.
After you start, you're taken to your dashboard, where the job shows its progress while videos run in parallel. When it finishes, pick Text, JSON, SRT, or VTT and download the ZIP.
Easy to read. Best for ChatGPT, Claude, and notes. Can combine every video into one file.
Structured data for code and automations: title, video ID, URL, language, and text or timed segments.
Captions with timing for video editors and players. One file per video.
Captions for web video players. One file per video.
You choose the format when you download, not when you start the job, so the same job can be downloaded again as JSON or subtitles later without using more credits.
One file from the ZIP: Text format, with title, link, and timestamps on (sample video)
Video Title: How to Make Cold Brew Coffee Video ID: Ab3dEf9GhIj URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ab3dEf9GhIj [00:00] Welcome back to the channel. [00:03] Today we're making cold brew at home. [00:06] You only need two ingredients.
You're building a chatbot that answers questions in the style of an educational channel. Download the long videos as JSON with timestamps, and each record comes with its video ID, URL, and timed segments, ready to chunk and embed.
You're studying how a news or commentary channel has covered a topic over the years. Search titles for the topic, select the matches, and download one combined text file you can search or load into an analysis tool.
You run the channel yourself and want to turn your back catalog into blog posts, a book outline, or a course. Download everything once, then use "Exclude Downloaded" next month to fetch only the new uploads.
We download the captions YouTube already has, whether creator-uploaded or auto-generated. We don't transcribe audio. A video with captions turned off has no transcript to download.
Private, members-only, and age-restricted videos can't be fetched. Deleted and private entries are removed from the list before credits are reserved.
Each video in the job uses one credit. Videos that turn out to have no captions or are unavailable still use their credit, because we made the request. If a video fails because of a network or proxy error on our side, the credit is refunded.
Videos run in parallel, but a channel with thousands of uploads still takes a while. Completion time depends on how many videos you select and how quickly YouTube responds.

Extract transcripts from complete YouTube playlists. Perfect for courses, tutorials, and educational content.
There is no fixed cap on channel size. You can select every video on a large channel, and you need one credit per selected video. Many people start with a filtered subset, such as the long videos or a keyword, to test the output first.
Yes. The video list includes regular uploads, Shorts, and past livestreams. Use the duration filter or select "Short" videos to remove Shorts if you only want long-form content.
Processing runs in parallel in the background. Completion time varies with the number of videos, caption availability, and YouTube response times. You can leave the page and pick up the ZIP from your dashboard.
Yes, a video that has no captions or is unavailable still uses its credit. Failures caused by our side, such as network or proxy errors, are refunded automatically.
Yes. Load the channel again and click "Exclude Downloaded". It removes videos you already downloaded from the selection, so you only pay for the new ones.
Choose a preferred language before starting the job. If the video has captions in that language, we use them; otherwise the transcript depends on what YouTube makes available for that video.
No, only public videos are supported. We cannot access private, members-only, or age-restricted videos.
